The Pride of Hull was delivered in November 2001. BCTQ have
been involved in this project from its conceptual design,
which was done against the new IMO legislation. These are
the first British / Dutch Flag vessels to which the new regulations
apply.
BCTQ provided the building specifications and general arrangements
for world-wide invitation to tender and assisted in contract
negotiations as well as production of the shipbuilding contract.
Following the contract signing with Fincantieri, BCTQ acted
as technical consultant and plan approval authority to P&O
North Sea Ferries. Our role was to ensure compliance against
Owner's requirements and providing co-ordination with Lloyds
Register and British / Dutch Flag Authorities.
We provided a 14 person site team including inspectors who
were later augmented by owners sea staff. BCTQ engineers took
the vessel through commissioning and sea trails and continue
to advise the Owner on operational issues and guarantee claims.
